LISTEN TO AUDIO

I think I was about six years old when I accompanied my Dad to Henke & Pillot, the local grocery store, to “help” him with his shopping.
Somewhere along the way, I must have been distracted because when I turned around, the aisle was empty and my Dad wasn’t there. I ran to the next aisle, also empty, and to the next – but Dad was nowhere in sight. I was scared.
I remember crying and running up to a man who looked like he worked there. I asked him, “Have you seen my Daddy?” I don’t remember any more details, but I do remember how I felt – I was absolutely terrified!
And I remember the joyful relief I felt when I finally saw Dad. I was never truly alone. He’d been close by all along.
How often can we feel the same way in life? Lost and afraid? We search for security, guidance, for our Father. And just as my Dad never abandoned me, God our Father never abandons us.
The Bible tells us that God exists in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is a mystery that’s hard for us to comprehend and conceptualize, but – there it is. The main lesson for us is that God is real, He does exist and He’s everywhere – out there, with us and in us.
God the Father is above all things, the Creator of everything: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1, NIV. And He is Who He says He is: “God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’” Exodus 3:14, NIV. God is the One, Who has always been and always will be.
God the Son, Who was incarnate in Jesus Christ of Nazareth, is God with us: “And the Word became flesh and lived among us …” John 1:16, NRSV
God the Holy Spirit dwells within us: “If you love me (Jesus), keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17, NIV
The world is a scary place. It’s good to know that God is everywhere – out there, with us and in us – all of the time. He loves us and calls us His own. He will never leave us. We are never alone.

REMEMBER & BELIEVE
Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.
In the meantime, the Lord is with us!
QUESTIONS
Have you ever felt lost or distant from God? How has God revealed His presence in your life? Do you love the Lord Jesus? Do you trust Him and keep His commands?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for always being with us. When we feel lost, remind us that You are near. When we are afraid, help us to trust in Your presence.
Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil and the evil one. For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
Amen
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 (NRSV)
God bless you!
